Your role

In this role, you will support the operation, administration, and continuous improvement of Unix/Linux-based systems, primarily in Red Hat environments.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Administer Unix/Linux-based operating systems, including troubleshooting, installation, and setup.
  • Maintain compliance with security policies, including patch management and vulnerability remediation.
  • Perform backups and recovery using tools such as Netbackup.
  • Basic hardware management including racking, card/disk replacements, attaching to network(s), etc.
  • Installing third-party software following the instructions provided.
  • Document architecture, procedures, and operational guidelines for system administration.

 

  • Willingness to learn and acquire new skills (including acquiring relevant certifications).
  • Willingness to work on a rotating schedule (to cover the service hours) and to work outside of regular working hours (usually one Saturday per month).

 

Your profile

  • Strong expertise in Unix/Linux system administration (RHEL8, RHEL9, or similar).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for Unix/Linux systems.
  • Working with ticket system for incidents, problems, change management and configuration management.
  • Certifications such as RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) or similar are an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of English—both spoken and written.

 

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT
  • Knowledge of ITIL
  • Ability to Write Shell Scripts
  • Knowledge of container technology, especially Rancher
  • VMware/KVM knowledge
  • Windows Server Knowledge

Important Information

Due to the sensitive nature of our projects and the compliance requirements of our stakeholders, this position is based entirely on-site in northern Munich. Remote work is not an option.

Data-Warehouse GmbH is an expanding software manufacturer and service provider. Over the last 20 years the company has developed into a system house with its own product portfolios in the area of holistic, high quality information management, information logistics and process optimization, security and cyber strategy and compliance/data protection consulting.

The job is a Senior Container Administrator role. The environment to be managed is an air-gapped on-prem solution. The expectation is that the candidate will also perform Unix/Linux administration activities.

The job is located in the north of Munich (on site as no remote working is possible).

German, British, Spanish or Italian nationality is required.

Tasks:

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Rancher-based container platform in an air-gapped environment. 
  • Manage Kubernetes clusters, nodes, and workloads within the Rancher ecosystem. 
  • Administer Unix-based operating systems, including performance tuning and troubleshooting. 
  • Implement security hardening practices for containerized environments and Unix servers. 
  • Automate system and container operations using scripting languages such as Ansible. 
  • Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery for containerized workloads. 
  • Design and implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for both Rancher and Unix infrastructure. 
  • Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to support CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows. 
  • Maintain compliance with security policies, including patch management and vulnerability remediation. 
  • Document architecture, procedures, and operational guidelines for system administration. 

 

Requirements/Knowledge/Experience:

  • Proven experience in Rancher container orchestration and Kubernetes administration. 
  • Strong expertise in Unix/Linux system administration (RHEL8, RHEL9, or similar). 
  • Knowledge of air-gapped deployments and best practices for secure environments. 
  • Proficiency in infrastructure automation using Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools. 
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Loki. 
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills for both containers and Unix systems. 
  • Familiarity with container security tools and practices. 
  • Experience working with containerized databases and persistent storage solutions.
  • Experience with version control and CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins, ArgoCD, etc.). 
  • Certifications such as CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator), RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer), or similar is an advantage.
  • Understanding of SIEM tools and security event monitoring focused on containers is an advantage. 
  • Working with ticket system for incidents, problems, change management and configuration management.
  • Strong background in IT (working in IT).
  • IT related Bachelor or Master's degree is a plus.
  • Any knowledge of ITIL would be useful.
  • Knowledge of DNS and load balancers.
  • Good Unix/Linux knowledge.
  • Knowledge of BMC Helix would be nice to have.
  • VMWare knowledge would be nice to have.
  • The candidate should also be able to speak and write in English.
  • Security check (Ü2) available or willing to go through the process to acquire it.
  • Willingness to learn and acquire new skills (including acquiring relevant certifications).

We are looking for several experienced PostgreSQL developers / database migration specialists (f/m/d) to support a major migration project from SAP HANA to PostgreSQL.

  • Salary range: €65,000 – €90,000 gross per year, depending on experience, security clearance status, and technical fit.

Your Role

You will support a major database migration project from SAP HANA to PostgreSQL in a high-security IT environment.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Analyze existing SAP HANA database structures, views, procedures, and SQLScript logic
  • Design and implement PostgreSQL schemas, tables, views, functions, and stored procedures
  • Support the migration of database logic from SAP HANA / SQLScript to PostgreSQL / PL/pgSQL
  • Develop and test migration scripts, data transformation logic, and validation routines
  • Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and PostgreSQL database performance
  • Document technical decisions and migration steps clearly and reliably

 

Your Tech Stack & Experience

You should have solid experience in database development and migration projects, particularly in several of the following areas:

  • Extensive experience with SQL and PostgreSQL
  • PL/pgSQL, stored procedures, functions, triggers, or similar database-side programming
  • Database design, data modeling, schema development, and performance tuning
  • Data migration, ETL, transformation logic, and data validation
  • Linux-based environments and Git or comparable version control systems
  • Experience with reporting solutions, preferably based on open-source tools

Experience with the following would be a strong plus:

  • SAP HANA, SAP HANA SQL, SQLScript, calculation views, or generated SAP HANA views
  • Migration from SAP HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, or other enterprise databases to PostgreSQL
  • Proxmox or virtualized infrastructure environments
  • High-security, regulated, public-sector, aerospace, defense, or mission-critical IT environments
